Gilbert Raymond Sander, 85, Plattsburg, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026.
He was born December 21, 1940 to Ermel Raymond and Violet Marie (Evans) Sander in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1958 and received his bachelor’s degree at NWMSU in Education. In addition to working on the family farm, he worked at the Clinton County Soil and Water District. He also taught and substituted at many local schools.
Gilbert married Carol Fankhauser on June 8, 1962.
He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.
Gilbert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and had a great love for his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Corn.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; children, Kevin Sander (Shanda) of Independence, MO and Kim Buczek (Kris) of Cosby, MO; grandchildren, Dallas Sander, Kelsay Wyatt (Blake), Konnor Buczek, and Karoline Buczek; great grandchild, Wesley Wyatt.
Farewell Services 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026, Broadway United Methodist Church Plattsburg. Inurnment Perrin Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
