Arnaudville, Louisiana - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church honoring the life of Gilda S. Black, 75, who passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her family residence surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Arnaudville on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 8 AM to 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Soyer Lagrange. Gift bearers will be Soyer and Saxon Lagrange.
Burial will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.
Gilda was a cherished member of her community whose warmth and love enveloped all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Gilda held an Associate's Degree and dedicated her life to raising her family. Gilda's love for her family knew no bounds; she found immense joy in preparing wonderful meals that brought everyone together, traveling to create lasting memories, and sharing her love for reading romance novels.
In her free time, Gilda enjoyed shopping, and most importantly, entertaining her family and friends. The laughter and stories shared around her dining table will resonate in the hearts of many, as will the moments spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her son, Gervais LaGrange; daughter-in-law, Tanya LaGrange; daughter, Amy Mason; and her loving grandchildren, Trent LaGrange, Saxon LaGrange, and Soyer LaGrange.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Adraius and Ella Mae Sanchon; brothers, Albert Sanchon, and Jerry Sanchon; sisters, Linda White, Judy Doucet, and Trudy Wiltz.
Pallbearers will be Gervais Lagrange, Jr., Anthony Nauert, Coby Doucet, Trent Legrange, Ronnie Nickens, and Jeremy Sanchon.
Honorary pallbearer will be Paxton Wiltz.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Clarity Hospice for the love and care they provided for their loved one.
