Ginger Michelle Thomas passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Ginger was born January 26, 1975, in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was the second and youngest daughter of John ("Codger") and Patricia Ann Thomas, of Joyce, Louisiana.

Ginger's earthly life was constrained by her physical limitations. She was afflicted by cerebral palsy from birth. She never walked or spoke. She endured multiple orthopedic surgeries and other medical procedures over the course of her life. However, her life was not defined by these limitations or these circumstances. Ginger had a vibrant and engaging personality. She was witty and her eyes bore witness to her energetic spirit. She was known by everyone she encountered for her happiness and the joy she expressed over the course of her life. In short, Ginger's life was defined by the spirit of Christ who lived within her.

On November 1, 2025, Ginger walked on her own legs for the first time when she passed through the gates of heaven. She used her arms for the first time when she hugged her Dad as he met her there. She spoke for the first time when she was greeted by and worshiped Jesus.

Ginger is survived by her mother, Patricia Ann Thomas Duck (husband Ted), of Missouri City, Texas; sister Melinda Thomas Elliott (husband Keith), of Missouri City, Texas; and brother Randy Thomas (wife Judy), of Joyce. She leaves eight nieces and nephews, along with 13 great-nieces and nephews.

Ginger will be laid to rest beside her father in Garden of Memories, Winnfield, following a private family service. Services will be officiated by Rev. Theodore Duck. Pallbearers will be Keith Elliott, Hunter Elliott, Taylor Elliott, Matthew Elliott, Brandon Frith and Bryce Martin.

The family wish to recognize and thank the wonderful staff of Richmond State School, Richmond, Texas, who became Ginger's second family and loved her as their own. They also wish to thank the staff of Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Houston, and Houston Hospice for their gracious care and attention to Ginger over these past weeks.
