Giovanna Bozzi

Giovanna (Giovie) Marie Bozzi (née Scandiffio) passed away on March 6, 2026, after a long battle with Lymphoma. Giovie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alex, and their children, Alex (Kathy), Marlane (Eric), and Vanessa (Terry), and their grandson, Bobby. Giovie is also survived by her sister and best friend, Dorrie, brother, Nick (Beth), sister-in-law, Lenore, and many nieces and nephews. Giovie is predeceased by her parents, Nick and Millie Scandiffio, and nephew, Heath McMonigal. Giovie also leaves many long-time friends here in Connecticut and in California, including dear friend of more than 40 years, Edna Gilbert. Giovie will be sorely missed.

Giovie was selfless and kind, witty and wise. She was a true friend and a wise counselor. Giovie always had an encouraging word, delivered with a smile, a clever turn of phrase and maybe even a little song and dance.

Giovie was a longtime member of the Hamden congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and drew comfort from her strong faith and resurrection hope. She would want us to remember her laughing and we will hold those memories close to our hearts. Our loss is unimaginable. Please take a moment to think of your favorite memories with Giovie. We all have so many.

Giovie's memorial service will be held on April 11, 2026 at 1 PM EDT at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 885 Wintergreen Avenue, Hamden, CT 06514. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Connecticut Hospice. Giovie's sister-in-law, Beth, put it best, "Giovie was easy to love." Those who were fortunate enough to know Giovie would agree.
