Giovanni Giacobbe Obituary
Giovanni (John) Antonio Giacobbe entered into the eternal gates of Heaven on November 16, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Flumeri, Italy, Giovanni came to the United States at just sixteen years old, immigrating Legally, with hope, determination, and a dream for a better life. Through hard work and unwavering dedication, he fully assimilated into American culture and lived the true American dream.
Giovanni married the love of his life, Josephine (Testa) Giacobbe, and together they shared 63 beautiful years of devotion, partnership, and family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine; his cherished children, Michelle Giacobbe and her husband, Neal Jain, Ralph and Marilia (Lilly Curral) Giacobbe; and his treasured grandchildren, Victoria and Giovanni Giacobbe, who brought endless joy, laughter, and pride into his life. Nothing made Giovanni smile more than spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his world.
A man who valued simplicity and family above all else, Giovanni enjoyed traveling back to Italy, gathering for family dinners, and dining at his son Ralph's restaurant, Testo's Monroe. He was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and infectious smile that could warm any room. His presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Giovanni was predeceased by his parents, Michelina Tarantino and Raffaelo Giacobbe, and his son-in-law, Vincent Raymond Lyddy.
Giovanni's memory will be cherished forever, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Parente Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21st, at 10:00 a.m., directly at St. Andrew Church, 395 Anton St., Bridgeport. The procession will follow immediately after the Funeral Mass to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.

Dear Comare Giacobbe, Michelle, and Ralph -- I am thinking of you at this time, and sending my condolences. Compare's lifelong friendship was so important to my father: their lives were intertwined in many ways (weddings, godparenthood, and work).
