Giuseppe Graziosi, 86, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center.
Born on May 22, 1937, in Campi Di Norcia, Province of Umbria, Italy, to the late Domenico and Maria (Silenzi) Graziosi, Giuseppe immigrated to the United States in 1953 at the age of 17. He initially settled in New Brunswick, New Jersey, before relocating to Somerset. Following his retirement, he and his beloved wife, Anna, enjoyed several years in Florida before returning to New Jersey, making their home in Brick, NJ.
Giuseppe proudly served in the New Jersey Army Reserve National Guard: 1st Medium (Patton) Tank Battalion, 53rd Armored Regiment. He achieved the rank of Sergeant. An Expert on the M-1 Rifle and the 81MM Self-propelled Mortar.
He spent many years as a Union Mason, a trade he mastered with passion and dedication. Giuseppe's passions extended beyond his profession; he was a gifted cook and took immense pleasure in making wine and prosciutto, preserving the flavors of his Italian roots. An avid hunter and traveler, he loved his trips to his home in Campi Di Norcia and around the world. But the one thing he cherished most of all was his family!
A devout Catholic, Giuseppe was a longtime parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle Church in New Brunswick, where he was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Consolata Knights.
Giuseppe was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna (Scaccetti) Graziosi, and siblings, Alberto, Caterina, and Pasquale Graziosi.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Graziosi and his wife Karen (Piccione) Graziosi of Sewell; his daughter, Rita Circelli and her husband Anthony of Brick; his cherished granddaughters, Cristina (Steven) Drake, Daniella (Johairo) Circelli-Lopez, Erica, Andrea (John) Stoner, and Melanie (Austin); his great-grandchildren, Dominic, Emerson, Antonia, Sadie, and Eleanor; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Church, New Brunswick, with entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
