Gladis Feltman Obituary
Gladis Maybell Feltman, age 89 of Houston, passed away August 20, 2024 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama.
She was born March 25, 1935 to Melvin and Iola Hull Abbott in Winston County, Alabama. Gladis loved working in her flower beds and loved going to the mountains.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs where the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Bobby Smith officiating. The burial will be in the Houston Community Cemetery.
Gladis is survived by her children, Maxine Roden, Donald Hammack, Christine Moody, Regina Lucas, and Earl Hammack; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Mae Ellsworth, Darlene Bates (Gary), Jewel Pruitt (Tommy), Arvel Cecil; brothers, Cecil Abbott, Lelton Abbott (Mary), and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward “Jabo” Feltman, Clayton Hammack; sons, Clayton Dewayne Hammack, Ronald Stephen Hammack, Larry Gene Hammack; infant grandson, James Royce Whitman Jr.; parents, Melvin and Iola Abbott; brothers, Cliff Abbott, Leon Abbott; sisters, Burilee Moore, and Lorene Davis.
