Armitage, Gladys E. Gladys Elsie Armitage, age 88, was taken into the Lord our Savior's arms in the presence of her family on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Gladys was born in Split Rock, Wisconsin on September 9, 1921, to the late Henry and Priscilla Smith Beyersdorf. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Kimberly, WI. She served on the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. Gladys married her best friend and the love of her life, the late Calvin Armitage, on February 20, 1946, and together they shared 56 wonderful years. Gladys enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, embroidery and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her kindness and caring spirit was cherished by everyone she touched. Gladys is lovingly survived by her children: Diane Armitage Rhonda of Vadnais Heights, MN; Patricia Foth of Sun Prairie; Michael Debra Armitage of Darboy; Karen Scott Kohls of Green Bay; and her very special grandchildren: Michael "Mic" and Alec Foth; Eric, Emily and Mallory Armitage; Ben Sarah and John Kohls; great-grandchildren: Malachi, Ian, Tucker and Titus Kohls; Greyington Foth; sister: Mary Roy Sieg of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Janice Beyersdorf of Neenah; Eleanor Beschta of Appleton; brothers-in-law: Donald Lois Armitage of Middleton; Merlin Susan Armitage of Texas; Wesley Jean Armitage of Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Harold Biebow and brother, Henry Beyersdorf. The Funeral Service for Gladys will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at ETERNAL LOVE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1011 E. Midway Road, Appleton, with the Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in Gladys' name.
