Gladys R. Branks

Gladys Redmond Branks passed away unexpectedly on November 30,2023 and went home to be with her Lord. She was born on May 1,1923, the daughter of Oliver and Hattie Redmond of Arden, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; Walter Lee Branks. Who passed away on November 10,1991 and her daughter Nancy Lance who passed away in July 2020. She was a resident of Universal Health Care Center in Fletcher, NC. She recently celebrated her 100 birthday with family and friends at the facility.
Gladys Redmond Branks is survived by her sister Sarah Pinner of Fletcher, a daughter Patsy Ann Clark and husband Hugh of Fletcher; as well as two sons Ricky Branks and wife Annette of Arden, and Gary Branks and wife Mendy of Etowah. She has (11) eleven grandchildren, (17) seventeen great grandchildren, and (6) six great-great grandchildren.
She was born on the Biltmore Estate and attended Biltmore school. She was a lifelong residence of Fletcher and worked various jobs in the community but spoke mostly about her 16 years of service as a CNA at Pardee Hospital Hendersonville.
A graveside service will be held on Monday December 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville NC.
