Gladys Eleanor Colwell

Mrs. Gladys Eleanor Colwell, age 88 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 at the Wildwood Nursing Home.
Mrs. Colwell was born on June 9th, 1936 in Peninsula, Ohio to the late Arthur Huey and the late Florence Harrison Huey. She graduated from Boston Heights High School, worked for White Path Fab Tech, and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Colwell is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Colwell, and two sisters, Suzie James and Jackie Barker.
Gladys is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie (Linda) Colwell of Ellijay, Tim (Tammy) Colwell of Chastworth, and Steven (Missy) Colwell of Ellijay; 6 grandchildren, Ronald (Tonya) Colwell, Chris (Sam) Colwell, Ashley (Tony) Keener, Allen Colwell, Miranda (Joseph) Warnar, and Cody English; 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and special niece, Debbie Barker also survive.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Mrs. Colwell will held on Monday, June 2nd, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., noon, from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. David Nicholson and Rev. Curtis Easley officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery located at 809 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Blairsville, GA 30512. The following gentlemen will be serving as Pall Bearers: John Colwell, Ronald Colwell, Chris Colwell, Danny Colwell, Issac Colwell, and Tony Keener. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Clyde Voyles, and Chris Henderson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 1st, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted; however, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
