Obituary of Gladys Espinal
In loving memory of Glady Espinal
Gladys Espinal, age 88, of West Haverstraw, NY, peacefully departed this life surrounded by
loved ones on May 13, 2024. Gladys was born on January 15, 1936 in Dominican Republic.
She came from the Dominican Republic to Haverstraw NY in 1965. Gladys worked as a food service worker at Letchworth Village. She retired after 30 years of service. Gladys loved to cook for her family, friends, and church events. Family dinners were once a week. Gladys was a loving, caring, giving, and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman of faith that instilled her deep faith to her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel Espinal, her two sons Alex and Daniel, her grandsons Jason and Alex, her two great grandsons Ian and Gavin, and her great granddaughter Audrianna.
Gladys is survived by her four children Flor (Lilo) Vargas of Garnerville, Donaldo Espinal of West Haverstraw, Maria (Ruben) Berrios of Thiells, and Delfia (Robin) Marrero of Pomona. She was deeply loved by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but shared a special bond with her first grandchild, Ernesto.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday, May 17, from 4-8 PM at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 133 Broadway Haverstraw, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Knanaya Catholic Church, 46 Conklin Avenue Haverstraw, NY 10927
