Gladys Hanauer

The world recently lost a bright and shining star, our beloved mom, who made her grand exit on October 27, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and beautiful memories. Born on February 12, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia, Gladys spent the majority of her life in Boise, Idaho, making lifelong friends laugh while working at Hewlett Packard. She was a woman of many talents and an avid lover of Willie Nelson, Broadway musicals, and road trips. Her favorite detours included Greece, Hawaii, the Oregon coast, and that one time she braved a group of MMACHS students all the way to China. Our family is forever indebted to Kortney for taking such wonderful care of Glamma and keeping her in her home for as long as she could.
Gladys was a creative soul, known for her funny antics and courageous spirit. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Boise State University, proving to everyone that brains and humor could indeed coexist. She was thoughtful, always the first person to lend a hand, and was fiercely proud of her children, grandkids and great-
granddaughters. The Christmas season was Gladys' Super Bowl, where she passed on her love of the holiday, along with a few mischievous traditions, to the younger generation. She also was a talented photographer and loved capturing life's memories for friends and family.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Kevin) Miller; daughter Cindi Wells (Rick) son, Chip (Kristina) Bowers; granddaughters, Kortney Knighton and Kara (Ryan) Allen; grandsons, Hayden Hutsell and Anthony Bowers; sister, Sharon (Johnny) Blythe; and great-granddaughters, Finley, Charley, and Blakely Allen. Her Nieces Adrienne McBride, Shannon Sherman, Nephews Charlie Hall and Cameron Blythe and families. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hall; mother, Elisabeth Wilden; spouse, Herbert Hanauer; and brother, Charles Hall 111.
We'll celebrate Gladys' life in true Gladys style on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm MDT at Bella Vida Funeral Home, 9661 West Chinden Boulevard, Boise, Idaho, 83714.
