Gladys Williams Hunt, 73, of 130 Andys Trail, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Gibson House.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Midway United Methodist Church, (10930 US Highway 158 West, Reidsville NC) with Rev. Samuel Moore and Rev. Jonathan Marlowe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and the burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Gladys, affectionately known as "GeGe", was born and raised in Rockingham County to the late Joseph and Eula Sutton Williams. She graduated from Reidsville Senior High School and continued her education at Rockingham Community College. Gladys was a sales and office manager at Arthur’s Jewelry and later at the Jewel Box Store in Reidsville. She worked at Chrysler First Finance and later worked for and retired from NewBridge Bank in Reidsville. She was a faithful and longtime member of Midway United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making craft items, especially scrapbooking. Gladys was a baseball enthusiast and an avid New York Yankees fan. She will always be remembered as a kind and caring person.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Diane Neal.
Gladys is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Richard Hunt; brother, Joseph Dennis Williams (Tammy); brother-in-law, Edd Hunt (Ruby Lee); nieces, Suzanne, Rachel (Brian), Michelle, and Andrea (Josh); nephew, Eddie (Susan); and extended family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Harriet Spaulding for her loving care that she gave to Gladys over the last few months.
