Funeral services for Gladys Simpson Lawson, 87, of Frankfort, KY, will be 11:00am on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at LeCompte Johnson Taylor. The burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, August 18th and 10:00-11:00am prior to the services on Tuesday. Gladys entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2025, to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Rockcastle County, KY, on October 6, 1937 to Bertha (Collett) and Frank Simpson. Gladys' faith guided her life. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Gladys was graced by her warm and caring heart and touched by her loving kindness. She was always first to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, and a kind smile to anyone in need and was always generous with her hugs. From the time she was 17, Gladys was a devoted and loving wife. She and Jim were inseparable through all of life's ups and downs, supporting one another, putting the other's needs above their own, and defining what it means to be soulmates. She spent her career working at Jim Beam Brands, but her proudest accomplishments were raising her children, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and caring for others, including her many beloved pets. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, gardening, bird watching, and most especially, collecting a wide variety of keepsakes. Her country charm and sweet sense of humor were cherished by family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike. Gladys is survived by her husband and love of her life of 70 years, Jim; children, Debbie Lee (John), Frank (Stephanie), Alan, and Tim; grandchildren, Amy Lofton (Brad), Ashley Lennon (Dan), George Mang (Melissa), Jessica Miles (Brandon), Shawn Lee (Krissy), and Becky Peavler (Walter); 12 great grandchildren, 3 siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Edward, and 6 siblings. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Lee, Cody Lofton, Brad Lofton, David Simpson, Steve Hanlon, and Walter Peavler. The family would like to thank Lisa Stephens for all her compassion, devotion, love and care which were a great blessing in Gladys' final years, as well as Bluegrass Care Navigators for providing comfort and peace for Gladys and her family. Gladys exemplified faith, generosity, and love throughout her life and though she is no longer with us, her shining spirit remains in the hearts of those who knew and treasured her.

I´m sorry for your loss. I was her supervisor on the bottling line at Beam and have fond memories of the time we worked. Gladys was one of my favorite people and still is. Again, I´m sorry for the loss and I know she is in comfort. Bob Guyn
