Gladys M. McNeary, a cherished matriarch, devoted mother, and loving grandmother, who left this world on August 13, 2025, at the age of 75. Surrounded by the warmth of her family in her beloved home in Decatur, Gladys's spirit ascended, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

Born on April 2, 1950, in Brownsville, TN, to James A. Kilpatrick and Beatrice Estes Davis. Gladys later relocated to Decatur, where she devoted her life to raising her children and nurturing her family.

A lifelong member of the Church of the Living God Temple #3, Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and was active in the church, serving on the usher board. She was the matriarch of her family, known for her selfless nature, love for singing and dancing, and her deep affection for her grandchildren. Gladys cherished her role as a caregiver and took great joy in nurturing her family.

Gladys worked for 29 years at Wagner's Casting and made a significant impact in her community through her role with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), where she opened her home to children in need. Additionally, she served as a compassionate healthcare worker in homecare, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to helping others.

She is survived by her children, Clyde Kilpatrick Jr., Teresa McNeary, and Tracie McNeary; her brothers, Willie Fred Estes, Barry Davis, and Jerry Wayne Estes; her sisters, Annie Ruth Wilkins, Deborah (Kevin) Abdullah, Denise Estes, and Dr. Janet (Andrew) Jackson-Gordon; grandchildren, Toneshea, Antonio, Chandra, Lateres, Darandon, Porsche; and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Jack McNeary; her parents; her grandson, Darmarco; her sister, Ethel (Thomas) Newbern; brothers, James Estes and Steven Estes and niece and nephew, Darlene and Jimmy.

Gladys M. McNeary will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the profound love she shared with all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
