Gladys M. Metzger, 93, of Siler Ridge Park, Toms River, New Jersey , passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the comfort of her own home. She was born September 11, 1931, to the late Alexander and Theresa Gargalowitz.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Eddie, of 37 years and her siblings: Teresa Gargalowitz, Ronald Gargalowitz, and Barbara Simon.

Gladys was born in Newark, New Jersey and was raised in Union. She went to school to pursue a nursing career where she found a true love and passion for taking care of others. She often told stories of her patients and her times as a nurse.

She was truly a special person, and she cherished spending time with her friends and family. Her fun and loving ways have gifted us all with sweet memories. She always put others first, and was there every time without question to help or celebrate loved ones. She will be eternally loved, truly cherished, and always remembered in our hearts.

Gladys is survived by her sister in law, Carolle Gargalowitz; her nieces, Christine Gargalowitz Yoken, Jennifer Simon, Tina Pell, and Michelle Kelly, and her nephews, Mark and Paul Gargalowitz, and Stephen Simon, her granddaughter, Athena (Dane) Muraida, and four great grandchildren, Pat; Cathryn; and Marissa Pope and Sophia Muraida as well as extended family members, Pat and Kim Pope, Ernie and Kathy Gouker, and James and Joann Polifko. In addition to many more nieces, nephews and cousins. Gladys very much loved her entire family, with much devotion, exceptional caring and constant prayers.
