Gladys Mae Weaver

1932 - 2026

Gladys (GeeGee) Weaver, of Star Harbor, TX, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Monday, March 9, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be missed by all.

GeeGee was born to James Perry Slaughter and Willie Johnson Clayton in Nederland TX in 1932. She attended high school in Nederland and was a graduate of the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing, Memorial Hospital, Houston, TX class of 1953. GeeGee married Bert Weaver in 1956, and the two remained married for 65 years until his death in 2022.

During her 93 years of living, GeeGee pursued many callings and interests. These included nursing, being a PGA Golf Tour wife, being a competitive golfer herself, decoupage, sewing, pottery, guitar (at age 90) and many others. She was also active at her church and in several civic groups at Star Harbor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bert, and her sister and brother-in-law, Viola and O.R. Perdue.

Survivors include her two sons, Bret (Melanie) and Brad (Terry); four grandsons, Bret Jr. (Kacey), Brooks (Erika), Braden (Sarah), and Reese; one granddaughter, Margaret (Nick) Coomer; and one great-grandson, Finn (Coomer).

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff, TX. Funeral services will be at Malakoff Methodist Church on Thursday, March 12 at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Malakoff Cemetery.
