Glatha Denton, 91, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Dodge City, KS. She was born on December 9, 1934 in Ingalls, KS, to Pearl and Frances (Israel) Moore.
Glatha married Jack Laverne Denton on November 20, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Cimarron. Together they had three children.
She held various jobs throughout her life including Cimarron Insurance, Ford County, Treasurer's Office, an attorney's office, and as a dispatcher and receptionist for J&G Trucking Company before retiring in 2000. She loved going to the lake; many weekends and holidays were spent there with family throughout the years. She loved to travel with friends and family. Jack and Glatha spent their winters in Yuma, AZ. She enjoyed going to her grandkid's sporting events. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City, Squares & Pairs, and the McDonald's Coffee Club.
Glatha is survived by her loving spouse, Jack Laverne Denton; children, Mark (Tammy) Denton of Allen, KS, Dennis (Lisa) Denton of Allen, KS, and Tammy (Rick) Konecny of Dodge City; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Richard Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Frances (Israel) Moore; her sisters who she was very close to, all passed in 2016, Glennys Chalkley, Gwen Long, and Gyra Miller; and a son-in-law, Joe Frank.
Funeral service for Glatha Denton will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with a burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 12 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Dodge City.
