Obituary for Glen Claude Broudy, Sr.

May 22, 1934 - November 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glen Claude Broudy, Sr., who left us peacefully at the age of 91 at his residence in Alexandria, Louisiana. Glen was born on May 22, 1934, and is lovingly remembered for his remarkable contributions to family, community, and the arts.

Glen was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, whose love and support were paramount in his life. He cherished his role as a father, instilling values of kindness and perseverance in his children and grandchildren, who will carry his legacy forward.

Glen proudly served in the United States Navy, where he showcased his musical talents by playing the bugle. His love for music extended beyond the military; he was a skilled singer and a talented performer. Glen held the honor of being a backup singer for Dennis Edwards and even shared the stage with the legendary Otis Redding. His voice resonated with warmth and charisma, bringing joy to many.

In addition to his musical career, Glen was a fearless boxer and a well-spoken man with a flair for storytelling. He had a deep passion for watching Westerns, often recounting his favorite scenes with a gleam in his eye. This is also how his daughter Trina adopted the name "Trigger", which they often laughed about. Glen dedicated his life to his faith, serving as a Deacon at St. John Baptist Church in California and becoming an ordained minister, touching countless lives through his spiritual leadership.

Glen's son, Glen Jr., fondly referred to him as "Daddy's Baby," reflecting the deep bond they shared. His talents were many, but it was his kindness and compassion that truly defined him.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Citadel Church Alexandria, located at 2111 Houston Street, Alexandria, Louisiana, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM. followed by final committal rites with military honors at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 3348 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana, at 1:30 PM.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Glen Claude Broudy, Sr., let us remember the joyous moments, the love shared, and the indelible impact he made on all those who were fortunate to know him. His spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
