In Loving Memory of Glen Richard Evans
Glen Richard Evans, 75, of
Livingston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 22, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1950, in
Livingston, Texas - the town he loved and proudly called home. Glen was born to Earnest Ray Evans and Posey Wathine Gilliam Evans and was raised and educated in Livingston. After graduating, he followed his calling to serve others by attending the Houston Fire Academy. Glen proudly served with the Houston Fire Department for 20 years, a career he truly loved. In 1978, Glen was honored for Outstanding Fire Suppression at the 5th Annual Awards Luncheon presented by the Exchange Club of Central Houston. Throughout his career, he helped bring many babies into this world and pulled countless people to safety, always putting others before himself. After retiring from the fire department, Glen continued working hard and serving others. He became the owner and operator of Evans Logging before finding one of the most meaningful roles of his life - driving a bus for special needs students with Livingston ISD. He lovingly called them his "bus babies" and treated each one as if they were his own.
Glen shared 48 years and 8 months of marriage with the love of his life, Tommie Gail Patterson Evans. He was her heartbeat, her partner, and her greatest blessing. His family meant everything to him. Glen loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and helping people whenever he could. He especially cherished time spent on the Frio River. Music was a lifelong passion - he began playing guitar at Beech Creek Church at just four years old and continued playing throughout his life. He played lead guitar and sang with gospel groups, sharing his faith and love through music. One of Glen's greatest joys was making people happy. He loved hosting his yearly Christmas party and proudly serving his homemade chili - whether it was mild or hot didn't matter as long as everyone was together and smiling.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Ray Evans and Posey Wathine Evans, and his beloved sons, Kevin Christopher Evans and Richard Glen Evans.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Tommie Gail Evans, along with many friends and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, service, and love. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in
Livingston, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. E.J. Adams and Rev. Don Goodwin. Interment will follow in the Midway Cemetery,
