December 14, 1924 ~ October 22, 2025
- Glen Jensen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at the age of 100. Glen was born December 14, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifford Charles Markham and Florence Rebecca Jensen. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army combat veteran during World War II, serving in the 289th Field Artillery Observation Battalion on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Glen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving diligently in many callings throughout his life. The greatest joy of Glen's life began when he was married to his sweetheart Mrytle Bertagnole Jensen in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Glen grew up learning the value of hard work, honesty and family principles that guided him throughout his life. This included traveling across the country with his uncle before the war working on projects from Seattle to Cincinnati and throughout Utah. He worked for 39 years at Filtrol Corporation and during many of those years he also ran the East Canyon Marina (1970-1980) and maintained his rental properties. He was a very hands-on, skilled craftsman that could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing & hunting, welding, BYU football, and the Utah Jazz. He loved the outdoors and traveling with his family, especially to Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle, his parents, sister Carol, and grandson Rob. Glen is survived by Steven Jensen (Shirley), Colleen Blonquist (Dan), LeeAnn Kaufman (Dale), 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and his cousin Carolyn Jensen whom he considered a bonus sister. Each of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy.
A viewing will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Sandy, Utah on Sunday, November 9th from 6:00-8:00pm and Monday, November 10th from 1:00-1:45pm with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm. There will be military honors at the graveside.
