Glen Jensen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc. - Price on Mar. 16, 2026.
Glen Jensen

ELMO- Our dad, Glen Jensen, rode off into the sunset on March 15, 2026, passing away peacefully at his home in Elmo, Utah surrounded by family at the impressive age of 94. Dad was born in Cleveland, Utah on June 21 – or maybe June 22, 1931 (not sure which day) to Edward Christian and Maude Jensen. Being the youngest of 11 children, he learned early to hold his own, work hard, and keep a good sense of humor.

Dad married Karen Litster on June 23,1956. They built a life full of love, laughter, and hard work. They spent 68 years together before mom passed away last year. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on June 14, 1984.

Together they raised four children: their only son, Kirk (Roxanne) Jensen of Cleveland, Utah; followed by three daughters, Glenna Kaye Jensen of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Marian (Michael) George of Emery, Utah, and Kimberle- deceased (Byron & Marie Baird) of Payson, Utah. Dad also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 22 step-great-grandchildren.

Dad was a true cowboy to the core and lived his 94 years with grit, humor, and a deep love for the land and animals he cared for. He was known for his quick wit, easy laugh, and a habit no grandkid ever escaped – cheek pinching. If you were within arm's reach, your cheeks were fair game. Kids, grandkids, neighbor kids, and worst of all . . . mom's! Dad loved his cattle and took pride in his herd. He bought the best bulls, rode good horses, and always had a loyal dog by his side. Many Saturdays were happily spent at bull sales and studying the next great addition to the herd. Even at 89 years old Dad was still riding horses, and when he got bucked off, he simply got back on and kept going. Some of his happiest times were spent at his favorite place, Range Creek, doing what he loved most: living the cowboy life.

Dad proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a coal miner in the Latuda and Hiawatha coal mines. But some of his most memorable work was done in his younger days working for Redd Ranches in Colorado.

Dad showed a different kind of strength as he cared for Mom when her health declined. He was her devoted caretaker and rarely left her sight. After she passed away a year ago, he missed her deeply and asked everyday where she was. Now he finally knows. We are sure he is happily reunited with her.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen Litster Jensen; his daughter, Kimberle Baird; his parents, Ed and Maude Jensen; and siblings, Harriet (Frank) Jensen, Annette (William Wayne) Liddell, Alvin (Iva) Jensen, Leora (Vernon) Leamaster, Lindora (Harry "Bud") Draper, William "Bill" (Lois) Jensen, Edwin "Ted" (Elva) Jensen, Beth (Walter) Henzi, Fred (Larna) Jensen, and Henry "Roy" (Zona) Jensen.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Symbii for their dedicated and loving service during the past year.

Funeral Service, Saturday, March 21, 2026, 12:00 (noon), Elmo Ward Chapel (170 East Main Street) in Elmo. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service both at the church in Elmo. Burial will follow in the Cleveland Town Cemetery.
