Glen Steven Knowell, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in his hometown of Plant City, Florida. Born on November 14, 1954, to the late Robert and Betty Knowell, Glen's life was a testament to the steadfast love and joy he brought to his family and those who knew him. He was 70 years old.
Glen's journey in life was marked by a profound devotion to his family. He married the love of his life, Joyce Knowell, on June 27, 1981, and together they created a home filled with warmth and laughter. Although predeceased by his son Glen Robert Knowell, his legacy lives on through his daughter, Elizabeth Joyce Knowell, who he loved and supported with all his heart. Glen was a beloved brother to David, Daniel and his wife Peggy, Charles and his wife Lynn, Wanda, Janet Burrows and her husband Melvin, Patsy Lou Fasig, and Joenna May. His role as a brother was one of guidance, companionship, and unending support.
A man of the outdoors, Glen's passion for fishing, hunting, and camping was unmatched. His love for nature was evident to all who accompanied him on his many adventures under the open skies. Glen's enthusiasm for cooking was another facet of his love for life, often seen in the joyous meals he prepared for friends and family. His culinary skills were a vehicle for his generous spirit, as he loved nothing more than to share a hearty meal with loved ones.
Glen's life was a reflection of the values he held dear: hard work, integrity, and kindness. His hands were rarely still, for he believed in the dignity of work and the satisfaction of a job well done. Whether he was out in the wilderness or tending to his garden at home, Glen embraced every task with diligence and a smile.
The community of Plant City, where Glen was both born and passed away, was enriched by his presence. He was a familiar face to many, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. Glen's ability to connect with people from all walks of life was one of his most remarkable traits, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we say goodbye to Glen Steven Knowell, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His spirit, characterized by his zest for life and the natural world, will continue to inspire us. Though he has left this earthly realm, his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his extraordinary journey.
