Glen Richard Soper, age 76 of Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was the widower of Debra Joy Soper and the son of Bill and Grace Soper, born to them on August 13, 1948, in London, Kentucky.
Richard was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church. He enjoyed camping, collecting coins, especially Pennys, honeybuns and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Joy (Doolin) Soper and his parents, Bill and Grace Soper.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his two sons, Adam Soper and wife Jamie of Heidrick and Neil Soper and wife Crystal of Barbourville, eight grandchildren, Gracie Soper and Dalton, Elee Soper, Baylenn Barnett, Benson Barnett, Bellamy Soper, Birdie Soper, Elizabeth Soper and Richard Soper, three sisters, Jeanette Barnes and husband Bill of Bimble, Gail Phipps and husband Bill of Gray and Barbara Soper of Athens, Tennessee, brother and sisters-in-law, Helen Abner of Heidrick, June Pickard and husband Don of Barbourville and Terry Doolin and wife Maryetta of Barbourville and his caregiver, Angela Patterson. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Richard Soper will be conducted on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doolin Cemetery in Heidrick. Rev. Herby Hoskins and Rev. Duke Hammons will be officiating. Family & Friends will meet at the cemetery prior to the service.
