ABBEVILLE Glenda Reynolds Barnes, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, at her home. She was 83. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 2574 County Road 40, West, Abbeville, with Reverend Henry Fullington officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, c/o Claudia Trawick, 213 McClendon Drive, Abbeville, AL 36310. Mrs. Barnes was born and reared in Henry County, near Abbeville, daughter of the late Robert Wyatt Reynolds and Mittie Robinson Reynolds. She was a 1960 graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Wallace Vocational Technical School. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from the Abbeville Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide. Surviving relatives include her husband, David C. Barnes; a daughter, Amy Barnes (Thomas Harmicar), Opelika, AL; a son, Kevin Barnes (Stacey), Birmingham, AL; a sister, Barbara Peyton (Bill), Dothan, AL; two brothers, Henry Reynolds (Susan), Abbeville, AL; and Winston Reynolds, Echo Community.
