Glenda Sue Barnes, 85, went to be with her Lord on January 22, 2026. She was born on July 12, 1940 in Cardiff, TN to Dovie and Lester Todd and attended school in Harriman, TN. Glenda was affectionately known as "Nanny" by most everyone. She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Glenda was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Ten Mile. Most of all, Glenda loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Glenda is preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Fletcher; three brothers John Todd, Hobert Todd, and Steve Todd; three sisters Peggy McCullough, Wilma Cofer, and Donna Cunningham; one grandson James Fletcher.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth Barnes; her daughters Karen (Lee) Ramsey, Lesa (Billy) Crump, Barbara Rowe, Vivian Holzer and Kathy Goad.. Glenda also leaves behind her brother, Gary Todd, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There's just too many to list, but she loved them all.

Receiving of friends will be held in the chapel of Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ted Clower and Pastor Mark McCullough officiating. Following the funeral, interment will be held at Beulah's Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Salem Baptist Church at 1212 Salem Valley Road Ten Mile, TN 3788 in memory of Glenda.
