Glenda Kay Burlison Coates Age 70, of Centerville, TN, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 25, 1954, in Hohenwald, TN, to the late Howard Burlison and the late Pearl Simmons Burlison. Glenda was a loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend. She proudly retired from the Hickman County School System, where she touched many lives through her dedication and kindness. Her greatest joy was her family, especially supporting her grandchildren-often found in the stands at their sporting events, cheering them on with pride. She also treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, BamBam. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Coates. She is survived by her daughters Ginger James (Jeremy) of Centerville and Holly Orozco (Octavio) of Daphne, AL; her grandchildren Lauryn Benfatto (Brandyn), Lindsy Diamante, Anthony Diamante, Courtney James, Jackson Smith, and Chase Orozco; her sisters Peggy Stacey and Judy Bates; her brother Jerry Burlison Sr. (Penny); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville, TN. Family visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with public viewing beginning at 12:00 p.m., and the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses and staff members who lovingly cared for both of our parents. "Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
