Glenda Sue Epley, 80, of Hutchinson, died April 25, 2025, at Cedarhurst Senior Living, Wichita. She was born September 23, 1944, in Wichita, to George Elbert and Lena Gertrude (Beagley) Kerr.
Glenda graduated from Preston High School, Preston in 1962, and soon thereafter, attended and graduated from Adela Hale Business School, Hutchinson. Glenda worked various jobs, such as, Dillons Stores business and trucking department for many years, as a manager for Beal Office Supply, Hutchinson, and a debt collector with Portfolio Recovery Associates, Hutchinson, eventually retiring in 2014.
In her spare time, Glenda enjoyed being artistic with her scrapbooking, crafting, and sewing. In addition, she really enjoyed tending to her garden. A dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Glenda held many positions supporting her sisters, she also supported individuals with her involvement in the local TOPS Group.
On July 20, 1963, she married Buddy 'Bud' Laverne Epley, in Preston, KS. They shared over 59 years of marriage, prior to his death on March 5, 2023.
Glenda is survived by: her daughter, Teri (Dan) Slavenburg of Goddard; grandchildren, Katie (Craig Gorges) Slavenburg, Mason (Christina) Slavenburg, and Tyler Slavenburg; sisters, Donnie Meireis, and Barbara Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
