William Epley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. - East York on Feb. 23, 2026.
William Dennis Epley, 84, transmutated into the afterlife on Friday February 20, 2026. He was the devoted, loving and loyal husband of Joan Marie (Snyder) Epley for 57 years.

A celebration of life will be held by the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., East York, is assisting with the arrangements.

Mr. Epley arrived on the scene August 5, 1941 in Hanover, a son of the late Dennis Allen and Pauline Mildred (Strine) Epley. He was a graduate of Hanover High School, Colorado State University and Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Bill was the living definition of a renaissance man. Over the course of his life he wore many hats including son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a farmer, Air Force Veteran, Scholar, Polyglot, Poet, Adventurer, Black Belt in Tae Kwon do, Devout Christian, Teacher, Mentor, Comedian, Changemaker and Advocate.

Bill embodied a style of wholesome masculinity that was ahead of his time. He was authentic, unassuming, and unafraid to express his emotions. He exuded joy, hope, gratitude, patience, kindness and integrity. Bill lived in reverence of nature and was a self-proclaimed "animal lover." He had a particular fondness for dogs, horses, trees and his beautifully landscaped yards. He believed that all beings should remain wild and free (especially his daughter who embraced the wild woman archetype with his encouragement and guidance). Bill was a feminist who sought to empower the women in his life, as evidenced by his catch phrase "what a woman!" He will be remembered for his selfless compassion and service to humanity and the planet. He will also be remembered for dancing the jitterbug with his wife, campfire ghost stories, and "cornball" humor.

Bill is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter Adrienne , son in law Ryan, and grandchildren Briar and Fox as well as his loving extended family.

May the influence of his earthly presence ripple out to future generations in this age of aquarius.
