Thomas Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. - East York on Feb. 18, 2026.
THOMAS JAY ANDERSON died Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in York, Pennsylvania. He was 71 years old. Born in Chicago, IL to Ward and Nancy Anderson, he was the second of six spirited siblings. A graduate of Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL, Tom attended Bowling Green University prior to following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps at Anderson Die Castings. He had first entered the factory at a young age, sweeping floors at six and, after leaving college, working his way to second-in-command. Tom spread his wings after the death of his grandfather and went on to other prominent aluminum die casting firms in the Northeast.

When not in the factory, Tom could be found on the golf course, a passion that began as a young professional caddy, extended to semi-professional competitions as a player, and, in later years, consisted of following the major tournaments from the comfort of his home.

An avid sports fan, Tom followed his Chicago hometown teams, although after a decade in New England, the Patriots became his most beloved team.

Tom was interested in American war history from an early age - he even had a battlefield diorama in his basement while growing up! He reveled in moving first to New England with its historic Revolutionary War sites and then to Pennsylvania with its plethora of Civil War battlefields available for daytrips with his beloved dogs.

Tom leaves behind a loving family: his wife and three children. He is predeceased by his mother.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plymouth Rock, an artist-run project space (Manessestrasse 66, 8003 Zurich, Switzerland).
