Funeral services for Glenda Harris will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, Louisiana with Bro. Michael Whittman officiating and Stephanie Molnaird assisting with interment following in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Riser Funeral Home on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
Glenda Faye Waldrop Harris was born April 5, 1948 in Grayson, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Dewey Dewit Waldrop and Minnie Lee Parker Waldrop and passed from this life peacefully at her residence in Grayson, Louisiana after a brief illness. Glenda was a true blessing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Glenda loved with all her heart and would listen to anybody and would help them if she could. She was a Christian, and loved church, and always had her children and grandchildren there as they grew up. Glenda and Den earned the names, "Mamaw Honey and Papaw Bear" throughout the years. Glenda enjoyed looking through cookbooks, watching the hummingbirds, and her pretty flowers. She also enjoyed shopping, animals, spending time with her family, especially at Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters: J.T. Waldrop, Jimmy Waldrop, Clyde Waldrop, Darrell Waldrop, Donny Waldrop, Ruth Pauley, and Edith Pauley. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-eight years, Den Harris; children, Deborah Moore (Thomas Haywood) and Chucky Harris; her brother and sisters: Coy Waldrop, Beryl Hall (Wayne), Jo Ann Rogers, Sandra Fuller, Hilda Dickey (Earl); grandchildren: Caleb Moore, Hannah Moore, Chloe Haywood; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Chris Mills, Ken Mills, Burt Rogers, Steve Rogers, Chucky Harris, and Caleb Moore. Honorary Pallbearer is Thomas Haywood. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mallisa Miller for the love and care she gave Glenda over time.
