Glenda Faye Fleming, a beloved member of the Saucier, Mississippi community, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on May 6, 1964, Glenda was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she cultivated a lifelong passion for reading that would later inspire her to open The Ridiculous Bookstore. This establishment became a cherished local destination, where her enthusiasm for books thrived, ultimately giving way to her extensive collection of eBooks.
Throughout her life, Glenda was a devoted wife to her husband, Patrick L. Fleming, with whom she celebrated 36 years of marriage. Together, they shared countless memories, each more precious as time went on. Glenda is also survived by her father-in-law, Larry Fleming "her buddy"; her siblings, Merilee K. Mortenson (Jeff) and Michael Marks; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Ray Marks, and her mother-in-law, Betty Fleming. Glenda’s legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew her, remembered not only for her love of literature but also for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
Her family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chedid and the staff at the Singing River Cancer Center for their compassionate care, which afforded Glenda almost three additional years of life, filled with treasured memories that will remain with them forever.
