Born on October 30, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, she was the daughter of Glen Edward and Dorothy Ganet (Struble) McGoron, Jr. Glenda's early years in Laingsburg were filled with laughter and the close companionship of her five siblings.
Glenda was a 1965 graduate of Laingsburg High School, where she was known for her spirited nature and her ability to light up any room with her humor. She had an innate talent for hairdressing, which she cultivated into a successful career. Her clients not only found a stylist in Glenda but also a good friend.
Her faith played a central role in her life, she accepted the sacrament of baptism on August 14, 2011 and she was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in St. Charles. Glenda's Christian beliefs guided her through life's challenges and joys. Those who knew Glenda will remember her as a woman who lived with gusto and has even been described as "Spicy"! Her determination and zest for life were evident in everything she did. She loved each person with her whole heart and made sure you felt supported, teaching each of her children to be self-sufficient. Glenda's sense of humor and quick wit made her the heart of those around her and she was always the one to "get things done" as reported by her brothers and sisters. Glenda's love for those around her extended also to her siblings, who were blessed to share their lives well into their adulthood. She was grateful for their relationship and support.
Glenda's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Angela (Chris Bender) Grannan and Tonja (Sean "Brutus") Bigelow Brown; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Meadow, Tori, and Tanner; great-grandchildren, Warrick and Ronan; and her siblings, Lola Butler, Glen "Bud" McGoron, Patricia Goldman, and Dale (Christine) McGoron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy in 1997 and Glen in 2002; her precious daughter, Hollie; her husband, Donald Dwain Lorentz; her sister Connie Reeves; brothers-in-law, Robert Goldman, Sr. and Jerry Butler.
Glenda's life was a testament to her passionate heart. She faced life's adversities with courage and grace, until she was welcomed into eternal rest. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
