Glenda Lee York, age 78, a resident of Moscow, Tennessee, and beloved wife of Michael York, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 7, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Glenda was the daughter of the late Glenn Mitchell Sartin and Mary Jane Blythe. She graduated from Overton High School in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1965 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, in 1980.
Glenda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of Somerville Methodist Church in Somerville, Tennessee. She married the love of her life, Michael York, on April 13, 1967, and together they shared many years filled with love and cherished memories.
Glenda found joy in gardening and all things floral, bird watching, and traveling—especially cruises and RV adventures. She was also a longtime member and past president of the Somerville Women’s Club.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Michael D. York of Moscow, TN; her son, Dr. Jeffrey G. York (Stasi) of Boulder, CO; her sister, Judy S. Jones (Tom) of Germantown, TN; her sister-in-law, Gwenda Spada (Bob); her grandchildren, Ellis and Magnolia York of Boulder, CO; and her nephews, Jeremy Jones (Rebecca) of Omaha, NE, Jordan Jones (Lizzy) of Birmingham, AL, Chris Landry (Sara), and Andy Landry.
