Glenn A. Askew

Glenn A. Askew of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 surrounded by his family. Glenn was born in Syracuse, NY on April 10, 1959 to Katye and the late Willie Askew. He lived and worked in Syracuse most of his life. He attended Syracuse schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for several years.
He loved music, especially oldies and goodies. Glenn enjoyed fishing, watching his favorite football team, the New York Jets. He also enjoyed visiting family and friends out of state. He loved dogs, especially his dog, "Snoop".
Glenn was predeceased by his father, Willie Askew; two sisters, Diadree Askew-Gist and Cassandra Askew; and one brother, Alfred Matthews.
Glenn leaves to cherish his memory, his only son, Jovante Askew of Troy, NY; his mother, Katye Askew; three brothers, William and Mark Askew of Syracuse, and Jon Mosley of Auburn, NY; three sisters, Connie Askew, Zina (Roosevelt) Chandler, and Paula Straughter, all of Syracuse; two aunts, Bertha Bradford of Syracuse and Allean Reese of Auburn, AL; two Godsisters, Jackie Bean and Faye Williams; Godbrother, Elder Timothy Williams; six close army brothers, D. Butler, D. Cove, E. Shirley, K. Ector, L. Carlos, and Roy B.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
