Glenn Bednarik Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasko Funeral Home - Campbell on Mar. 25, 2025.
Glenn Joseph Bednarik, 65
CAMPBELL The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Glenn Joseph Bednarik, 65 passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 23, 2025 surrounded by many loved ones, after a long battle with cancer (that he fought the hardest fight for many years).
The defier of all odds, Glenn always did everything on his terms, especially cancer. Regardless of medical estimations, Glenn surpassed each obstacle set before him with tenacity and perseverance while enjoying a cold Budweiser Busch (or even a sweet tea) with all of his buddies (a round for everyone).
Glenn was born January 21, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Michael and Geraldine (Cavalier) Bednarik.
He was a 1978 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, where he was known to be one of the greatest catchers for the Red Devil baseball team, and was the only freshman of his era to make the team.
Glenn married the love of his life, the former Lynn Graham on January 20, 1990 and they were married until her passing on July 14, 2017.
He held many jobs through the years. He worked for Kalex, Value King, Insulated Glass and Tamarkin (Teamsters 377).
Glenn loved playing pool (pool shark), traveling, gambling (craps), playing and watching all sports, action and comedy movies, and Rock'n Roll. He was a devoted patron of the Diamond, Chick's Place, Petri, St. Anthony's, and Tavern 26. Glenn was also an avid player of the lottery (but always one number short). Glenn always loved telling a "long story short" and always wanted to see everyone smile, be happy, and have a good time.
Glenn will be deeply missed and always remembered by his loving mother, Geraldine Bednarik; his devoted "one and only" daughter, travel partner and caregiver, Jennifer Bednarik (Cameron Trimble) of Campbell; grandchildren, Bentley and Kenzie, who called him "Grandpa Goofy"; two step-children and three step-grandchildren, Jayme Hilty (Tre and Tai Carter), Bill Hilty (Jared Hilty); sisters, Donna (Ray) Lopez of Poland. Sister-in-law Lisa Bednarik; his brother, Gary Bednarik of Campbell; nieces and nephews, Carla (Michael) O'Keefe of Cincinnati, Ross (Ashly) Lopez of Texas, Vincent and Nico Bednarik, Ryan (Mary) Bednarik and Gunner's Mate Seaman Apprentice Joey Bednarik; great-nephew, Ryan Bednarik and many great friends from home to Arizona (The Sheelys and Nobles).
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Bednarik; his wife Lynn Bednarik; his brother, Michael A. Bednarik and sister-in-laws, Gail Paine and Nadine Bednarik.
The Bednarik family has entrusted Glenn's care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 3-5 pm at the funeral home followed by a Prayer Service at 5pm officiated by the Very Rev. Kevin Marks.
Glenn will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
