Glenn Joseph Caldera, 60, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away on June 19, 2024. Glenn was born on June 22, 1963 in Rutherford, NJ to Carol and Dante Caldera. His early childhood years were spent in Clifton, NJ, before moving to Matawan/Aberdeen where he attended middle school and high school. Glenn was a graduate of Kean University and worked in the communications industry.
Glenn had a tremendous passion for music. He mastered several instruments and was very active in concert band and marching band in high school, where he was honored as the recipient of the John Phillip Sousa award upon his graduation in 1981. This award honors the top student in high school band and recognizes superior musicianship and outstanding dedication. His love for the Matawan Marching Band program kept him on staff with the marching band until 2022. In 1990, he became a founding member of a new Winterguard program for Matawan High School. His commitment and dedication was unmatched and resulted in 24 Championships during his tenure. Glenn was also honored as an inductee into the Matawan Regional High School Hall of Fame in 2003.
Glenn was pre-deceased by his father, Dante and is survived by his mother Carol and sisters Jane Caldera of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Lauren Caldera of Hazlet and Sandra Pangborn of Fair Haven and nephews Luke and Cole Pangborn.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 10:00 am, at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church/Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 376 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. Burial will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Route 79, Morganville, NJ 07751.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to make a donation in Glenn's remembrance, can do so to: The Matawan Regional High School Color Guard program.
