Glenn William Cook

Glenn (Bo) William Cook, 69, of Star City passed away Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 from cancer complications at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn was born in Morgantown on January 21, 1956, the son of the late Glenn Sr. and Evelyn Cook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Virginia 'Ginnie' Musgrave Cook and his son William Earl Cook.
Glenn attended Morgantown High School. He worked various jobs in the maintenance field including RDVIC and SRSH. He retired from the Army after having served in the National Guard in the 201st Field Artillery. He was involved with the food collection drives through the National Guard. He also served in Desert Storm 1990-91. He was a cook and a mess sergeant and received numerous awards and certificates while serving his country.
Glenn served as Campground Host managing Big Bend Campground in Smoke Hole Canyon for 19 years. He made hundreds of friends over the years at camp and throughout the area. He loved not only the people but the beautiful mountains and the canyon area. He enjoyed hiking the mountain trails, swimming and tubing the loop, fishing, feeding the deer, and the annual Fall Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends at the campground. He especially enjoyed a nightly tradition with friends at camp playing 'Take Me Home Country Roads'.
After retiring he returned to Star City. He enjoyed visiting his nephew Ralph's shop to hang out with the guys and work on different projects. He always started his day with coffee reading Our Daily Bread. He attended Star City Christian Assembly Church.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Monique 'Monie' Francis (Richard), a grandson Richard Glenn Francis, a brother Ralph Cook (Barbara), and sisters Susie Cook, Glenna Davis, Diana (Dee) Lawson, Ruth Murray, and Emma Luzader (Jim) all from the Star City and Morgantown area. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and friends from Big Bend Campground.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the many nurses and doctors that provided special care for him at Ruby Hospital and the many amazing nurses and staff on 9SE, the WVU Cancer Center, and especially Dr. Michelle Hartzell who was very special to Bo.
Per Glenn's wishes he will be cremated. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
