Norma Jean Vincent Kovach Alexander, 78, of Westover, passed away on Thursday morning, March 12, 2026 at Morgantown Healthcare Center.

Norma was born on June 26, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Burl Ross Vincent and the late Mina Jane Stallman Vincent.

Norma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Children Tina Deuesenberry and Jeff of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Joseph Deuesenberry of Morgantown, Kaylee Deuesenberry and her fiance Christopher Shepard of Huntington, AL, and Blake Deuesenberry of Morgantown; her great-grandchildren, Braxton, Sadie, and Xavier; her siblings, Lillie Robinson of Bruceton Mills, Patricia Golden and husband Daniel of Laurel Point, and Lawrence Richard Vincent of Pennsylvania; as well several nieces and nephews including Donald Robinson, John Robinson , his wife Amanda, and their children Seth and Carter, Tammy Forquer, her husband William Forquer, Jr., and their children Bristin Forquer, James Kisner, Joshua Vincent, Jason Vincent, Eric Vincent, and Karissa Golden. Also, Norma leaves her special friends Ruth and John Kilionski of Granville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joel Alexander; her siblings Pauline Ash and Virginia Bell Gary.

Norma was nifty and thrifty. She never went beyond her means and used everything she had to its fullest potential. She was also a talented baker. After taking a simple Wilton baking class, she became well known for her cakes for all occasions. Previously while living in Florida, she was a manager at Dunkin Donuts. Locally she worked at the Mountaineer Mall with the former Murphy Mart in the snack bar.

Norma could also be strong willed, even stubborn and set in her ways. If she disagreed with you, you would know it quickly! Norma had to have bread and butter with her all the time, as that was one of her favorite snacks.

At her request, Norma will be cremated and details of a service to celebrate her life will be announced later.
