It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Glenn R. Dobson, Sr., the best man his friends and family ever had the privilege to know. He walked the earth and positively impacted everyone he met for 80 full years. He was born in Boston, MA on March 12, 1944, to the late Forrest G. & Susan E. Dobson. He spent his early life in Quincy, Mass and graduated from Quincy High School before he and his parents settled in Middleboro, Mass. Here Glenn became a quiet pillar of his small community and raised his family with the greatest of love.
Glenn worked for the IBM Division of Morse Shoe & Company in Canton prior to his career as a foreman at DN Kelley & Son Shipyard in Fairhaven. He was so loved by the team he led at the shipyard that they kept his wife's freezer full of fresh seafood they caught. Glenn completed his working life by retiring from The Old Colony Y.M.C.A. in Brockton, Mass. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, June E. Dobson, his three children, Glenn R. Dobson II, Julie L. Baker, James F. Dobson, their spouses & numerous grandchildren.
Glenn was a devout Christian, living a life of grace, kindness, and centered on LOVE. He led a bible study group at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Wareham, Mass. Second only to his devotion to God and family was a love of boating, preferably on the Cape Cod Canal. Glenn was a man of many talents. He could draw any boat to scale and modify any piece of equipment to perform more efficiently and build you anything you could think of.
Our family would like to thank our communities for their outpouring of love and support. So many have reached out to share how Glenn was like a father to them. We invite you all to gather for a celebration of his life on August 10th @ 2pm, at the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 6 Rogers Ave, Wareham, MA, 02571.

Lastly, to honor Glenn Senior, we ask that you intentionally commit an act of kindness. He was the kindest man we were blessed to know and an act of kindness on his behalf would bring him great joy.
