Elizabeth J. "Betsy" (D'Olympio) Daley, age 75, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, surrounded by her loving family.

Betsy was born in Quincy, to the late Dorothy M. (Bridges) and Hugo L. D'Olympio. Raised and educated there, she was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1968. She later earned an Associate degree from Quincy College.

She lived in Weymouth for over twenty-five years, previously in Quincy for most of her life.

Betsy began her career as a nursing assistant at the former Quincy City Hospital and went on to work as a secretary at the Department of Transitional Assistance in Quincy for fifteen years. She had been retired for many years.

Betsy had a strong Catholic faith. She received all of her sacraments at Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy and later taught CCD. While living in Weymouth, Betsy was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and remained a devout Catholic her whole life.

Betsy was a talented cook and baker. She was a skilled cake decorator and took great pride baking cakes for the special occasions of family and friends.

Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments. She cherished time spent with them and the lasting memories they created together.

Beloved wife of the late Philip J. Daley.

Devoted mother of Philip Daley and his partner Elizabeth Lehnertz of Hanover, Kellie A. Butts and her husband James of Weymouth, and Kathleen M. Fernald and her husband Gregory of Holbrook.

Loving grandmother of Daniel J. Daley and Brandon W. Daley; Owen W. Butts and Anna E. Butts; Kenneth P. Fernald, Nina E. Fernald, and Emma R. Fernald.

Cherished great grandmother of Henry J. Leonard.

Dear sister of Dorothea Carroll and her husband James of Weymouth, Donna Messia of Wareham and her late husband Paul, Rosemarie Elder and her husband Robert of Weymouth, Robert D'Olympio and his wife Kate of Kennesaw, Ga., and the late William D. D'Olympio and his surviving wife Kathleen Sherwood of Falmouth.

Betsy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, September 10, from 4 - 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Thursday, September 11, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
