Glenn Goswick

Glenn R. Goswick, 74, of Elkton, VA, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Glenn was born August 31, 1950 in Durham, NC. His parents were Robert Turner Goswick and Irene Reynolds Goswick.
He had a long career in the Communication industry, beginning at the phone company in Wake Forest, NC, followed by over thirty years at Research Triangle Park in Raleigh/Durham, NC at Northern Telecom/Nortel, then Ciena. A highlight of his career was being part of a team sent to Bushwick, NY to restore computerized phone equipment in the Bushwick phone office that had been destroyed in a large fire. After the team restored service in record time Glenn made the first call on the restored equipment before the mayor of New York City made the first "official" call.
In retirement Glenn and his wife, Amy, moved to Elkton, VA close to Shenandoah National Park where he enjoyed riding his BMW motorcycle and hiking. He also volunteered at the local thrift store checking and repairing electronics.
Glenn loved his family and was always there for us. He helped coach baseball, went on cub scout camping trips and later made weekly trips to Sam's Club to supply the concession stand for the high school football games. He enjoyed watching football and golf, but his heart belonged to his Carolina Tar Heels, basketball team.
He was a loving husband, caring father and loyal friend. He touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. His kindness, patience and joy will live on in the many wonderful memories he created.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Amy and their sons, Jason R. Goswick of Youngsville, NC and Eric A Goswick and wife, Rachael of Franklinton, NC.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 2:00 to 3:00pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St, Franklinton NC 27525
Later to be determined there will also be a celebration of life for Glenn at the home in Elkton, VA
