Glenn (Dale as he was known to his family) Hampton, 85, died on March 14, 2026 following many health issues stemming from a long battle with skin cancer. He was born in Altoona Pennsylvania to the late Newton Glenn Hampton and Mary Jane Hampton (Foor). He was a 1958 graduate of Altoona Area High School and he joined the US Navy after graduation. He proudly served on the USS Suribachi and enjoyed his time aboard ship and seeing new countries. He held many different jobs throughout his life, but was given the opportunity to further his education and received an Associate degree in Business Administration from Penn State University. He retired from employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an accountant.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Perry (Tubby) Hampton and Randy Hampton.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren; a daughter, Angela Bucher, her husband Tom and their children Aaron and Emily. A son, Brian Hampton, his wife Stacey and their children Austin and Brady. He is also survived by his younger brother Ray Hampton and his sister-in-law Becky Hampton.
Glenn enjoyed many activities in his lifetime. He participated in several bowling leagues, enjoyed golfing, playing pinochle, traveling, cooking, cheered on Penn State and Steelers football teams and looked forward to spending time with his family.
A graveside memorial will be held with his family.
