Irvin Glenn Hignite, age 87 years, passed away Sunday morning, August 20, 2023 at Brookdale Midland. He was born on September 9, 1935 in Midland, the son of the late James and Trinvilla (Hardy) Hignite. Glenn was united in marriage to Betheny Bliss on September 2, 1955 and after 58 years together she preceded him in death on December 12, 2013. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and went on to a career at Dow Corning retiring as Comptroller. Glenn enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and watching U of M Football. He was an avid softball player till well into his 60's when a new hip slowed him down. Glenn was a faithful servant to his Lord being a member of St. John Episcopal Church in Midland where he was a senior warden and served on the investment committee.

On November 26, 2016 he was united in marriage to Sharon Morrison Bacigalupo and they shared companionship together over the last seven years. They are current members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bay City.

Surviving family include his wife, Sharon; his children, Michael (Paula) Hignite, Gordon (Gloria) Hignite and Lori Hignite; grandchildren, Eleanor (Aaron) Bontrager, Matthew Hignite, Michael (Autumn) Marble and Christopher Marble; great-grandchildren, Eliza and Benjamin Bontrager; also surviving are his step-children and their families; Janet Beattie, Andy (Sherri) Bacigalupo, Michael (Donna) Bacigalupo, Brian (Tina) Bacigalupo, Tony (Jena) Bacigalupo and Betsy (Jordon) Kolm; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Renie) Beattie, Andrew (Natalie) Beattie, Thomas, Tyler and Sophia Bacigalupo, Zachary Bacigalupo, Nicole (Adam) Yoder, Matthew (Rachel Greene) Gakstatter, Logan Gakstatter, Lindsay (Alex) Irrer and Carter Bacigalupo, Mia and Owen Bacigalupo and Preston Kolm; step-great-grandchildren, Genevieve and Collin Beattie, Vaira and Hudson Yoder, Emma Gakstatter, Charlotte Greene, Tatum, Luca and Lennon Irrer and Jade, Rose and Hunter Beattie. Glenn is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Arthur, David and Ralph as well as a sister and three brothers at infancy.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 103 E. Midland St. in Bay City. The Rev. Jamie Milton officiating. Private burial will take place at Homer Cemetery in Midland. The family will greet friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make a memorial contribution please consider Golden Horizons or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
