Glenn Jordan

Rev. Glenn Gilbert Jordan, age 91, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on January 19, 2026.

He was born on June 6, 1934, in Browndale (Brookland), Texas, to Bonner and Josephine "Phenie" (Clark) Jordan. Rev. Jordan was a man of humble beginnings who made a profound impact on many. His life was marked by deep faith, and He was a man of unwavering devotion to God. He was an exceptional father and was revered by his family. A faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church International for more than 61 years, Rev. Jordan served with distinction as pastor of Rosevine United Pentecostal Church, Trout Creek Tabernacle, Gist UPC, Hemphill UPC, Pineforest UPC, and North End UPC. Throughout his ministry, he built genuine relationships with the people he served. He was known for visiting families in their homes, walking alongside them through life's joys and trials, and becoming not just their pastor, but a trusted friend. Rev. Jordan often said that ministry was not about being the best preacher, but about having the right heart and a genuine love for people, a belief that guided his leadership and life.

In addition to his pastoral work, Rev. Jordan was a hardworking entrepreneur who owned and operated several businesses. His integrity, diligence, and leadership were widely respected in both ministry and the broader community. In recognition of his exemplary character and influence, he was honored as the South-East Texas Man of the Year. Though he accomplished much, Rev. Jordan often said his greatest achievement was raising a godly family. He found his deepest joy in knowing that his children and grandchildren were serving the Lord, many of whom followed him into ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 43 years, LaVerne (McGalin) Jordan; two sons, Samuel Jordan and Mark Jordan; a daughter, Karen (husband Sammy) Bozeman; two granddaughters, Sabrina Bozeman and Jana Jordan; and a grandson, Jared Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Bingham-Tomlin) Jordan; one daughter, Rhonda (husband Anthony) Page of Hemphill, Texas; two sons, Gary (wife Rhonda) Jordan of Buna, Texas, and Rev. Philip (wife Annette) Jordan of Frankfort, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Amanda Page, Kristin Jordan, Ashlee (husband James) Haefs, Rev. Reggie (wife Mary) Bozeman, Rev. Gentry (wife Destiny) Jordan, Rev. Spencer (wife Kaitlyn) Jordan, and Rev. Dillon (wife Keila) Jordan; twelve great-grandchildren: Rev. Jaxon (wife Kalli) Page, Zaley Case, Amberly Case, Liam Case, Ashton Case, Madilynn Haefs, Amelia Haefs, Lucas Bozeman, Olivia Bozeman, Sadie Jordan, Liam Jordan, and Finnley Jordan; and one great-great-grandson, Klein Page.

Visitation will be held at Buna United Pentecostal Church, 116 County Road 833, Buna, Texas 77612, on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas.
