Glenn G. Mathis, age 67 of Yulee, FL, passed away on August 21, 2022. Glenn was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 31, 1954 to Gilbert G. Mathis and Winnie P. Mathis. He graduated college with an Associate s Degree and married Anita C. Mathis on June 24, 1996. Glenn was self-employed as an Independent Insurance Agent for many years. He was a member of the Morocco Shrine, Hyde Park Lodge 370, enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing, and was a collector guns, knives and swords. He also enjoyed a good bourbon and cigar on the porch at night.and coffee in the morning.
A Special Thanks to the loving parents, who adopted him and gave him a great childhood.
Glenn is survived by Anita C. Mathis, his loving wife of 26 years; son James Dobyns, age 36; daughter-in-law Jamie Brazee, age 32; daughter Heather Connell, age 28; son-in-law Gregory Connell, age 39; daughter Alyssa Bedwell, age 24; and son-in-law Jakobe Bedwell, age 23. Also survived by five grandchildren, grandson Brian Dobyns, age 15; and granddaughter Nevaeh Dobyns, age 10; granddaughter Aaliyah Connell, age 9; granddaughter Hailey Connell, age 3; and Shelby Bacom, age 2.
A visitation for Glenn will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a funeral service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
