Bruce Alan Mathis

Bruce Alan Mathis, 60, of Cordele passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, December 8, 2025. A memorial service will be held at Arabi Baptist Church Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1pm. Bruce was born and raised in Cordele, GA. He is a 1983 graduate of Crisp Academy. In his younger years you could have found him at the Cordele Farmers Market. In his later years he was employed as a transportation supervisor for 22 years. After his retirement in July you could find him and his little side kick piddling around in the yard or under the carport working on the many projects he found. If he wasn't there he was doing his "Pops" duties; being "Pops" was everything to him. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; John M. and Helen Mathis; a brother Butch Mathis (John David), a cousin Edward Beach and grandson Hunter Brown. He is survived by his wife Stacy (Wade) Mathis; children Dallas (Josh) Stubbs of Cordele, Mollie (Kendall) Evans of Cordele, Kami (Zach) Fuller of Tifton, Drew (Macy) Fuller of Tifton; grandchildren Wyatt Brown, Spencer Stubbs and Charlotte Stubbs all of Cordele; sister Nelda (Thomas) Ryan of Lake Park, GA, Brother Aaron (Janice) Mathis of Atlanta; a special friend (his work wife) Stephanie Jones, also the mother of his children Michelle Hatalak.
