Leslie Raphael Lowry

Leslie "Ray" Lowry, age 72, of Cordele passed away on January 11, 2026. He was born on August 20, 1953, to the late Leslie and Doris Lowry in Brunswick, GA. Ray worked as a Manager for Advance Auto. He worked there until he retired. Ray enjoyed drag racing, he even won the National Championship in Drag Racing. He also loved working and building 429 SCJ engines for the racing community. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Neal Hardin. Ray is survived by his wife, Connie Lowry of Cordele, GA; a daughter, Eva Lowry of Cordele, GA; a sister, Darlene Gladney; and a cousin, Jack Hartley. Visitation will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. will follow in the Chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Rev. Phil Streetman will officiate. A Graveside service will take place at Antioch Zion Hope Cemetery.
