MCCARTY

Glenn Edward “Eddie” McCarty, age 54, went home to Glory on Friday, January 2, 2026, in London Health and Rehabilitation, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, quiet faith, and simple joys.

For 16 years, Eddie worked as a mechanic in Plain City and later for Buckeye Ford in London, where he was known for his skill and willingness to always help others. He had a natural love for fixing things and could often be found tinkering with lawn mowers or working on small projects just for the satisfaction of making something run again.

Eddie enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, along with country and bluegrass, which often filled his home. In his downtime, he loved watching movies and was sure to never miss his favorite program, Heartland.

Faith was an important part of Eddie’s life. Every Sunday he could be found attending church, as he attended several churches around London, always appreciating the different ways people worshipped and finding joy in each experience.

Eddie will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother Billy McCarty of London; aunts: Anna (Richard) Gilbert of Columbus, Wilma McCarty of Ashville, and Sharon McCarty of Kentucky; many cousins; very close friend Kathryn “Sissy” (Stephen) Osborne.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Edward McCarty and Dimple Ruth (Austin) McCarty; Several aunts and uncles including Arvil, Roy, James, and Charles McCarty.

The McCarty family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will commence at 1:00 PM with Reverend Melvyn Huguely officiating. Interment will follow in Deercreek Township Cemetery.
