Glenn “Slik” Edward Norris, 70, of Florissant, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Crossroads Country Church, 14425 FM 1541, Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Slik was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on December 20, 1955, to Dolores Hilda (Strube) Norris and Eldon LaVelle Norris. He married the love of his life, Denise Norris, on April 24, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had three children: Natae Fletcher, Chance Norris, and Brent Norris.
Slik spent the majority of his childhood farming and ranching with his family in Tucumcari, New Mexico. As a young man, he was involved with the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1974. Slik was a “jack of all trades.” He was an engineer for the railroad, drove semi-trucks, owned a construction company, and worked as an insurance adjuster. He was a creator, builder, engineer, and mastermind at fixing anything he touched.
Slik was very passionate about the fun he created in life. One of his greatest passions was coaching his kids and their friends in football, baseball, and basketball as they grew up in Dalhart. He brought fun into every aspect of life and always made every task an adventure. There was never a dull moment with him around. Slik was unapologetically goofy, caring, protective, and strong. His heart was huge, and he used every ounce of it to love those closest to him, including his pets.
Slik touched the lives of many people and was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to family. He loved riding motorcycles, golfing, hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling, dancing, and music. Some of his fondest memories were riding motorcycles with his family. He spent quality time with nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, his sister, and friends. He was always “The Host”!
Slik passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those he loved. As a family, we thank God for him; we were his prized possessions. He will forever hold our hearts in his hand and carry us forward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon; his mother, Dolores; and his sister-in-law, Sarah.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his daughter, Natae, and son-in-law, Greg; his sons, Chance and Brent, and daughters-in-law, Natalie Norris and Cody Lewis; his grandson, Dylan; his granddaughter, Taegan; his sister, Sharon; and his brothers, Roy, Eldon, and Jim; as well as his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
